Linkin Park 2010 Wrap Up2010 has been a great year for me and my band. Here are some 2010 year-end stats for the LP record books:
We released “A Thousand Suns”, which debuted at #1 in 15 countries.
The album debuted with an amazing contest called “Linkin Park Featuring You” on MySpace where fans were given pieces of our first single before it was released. They remixed the tracks, and we picked a winner named NoBrain–and included his work on our album.
We got a chance to play in a number of places we’ve never visited before, including the U.A.E. and Israel.
At home in the U.S., our first single, “The Catalyst” was the first #1 debut in the history of the Billboard Rock Songs chart. “The Catalyst” and “Waiting For The End” both went to #1 on the Alternative radio chart, bringing our career tally to ten #1 songs thus far.
LP won an EMA for “Best Live Act,” and we’re in the running for the upcoming People’s Choice Awards, Japan Gold Disc Awards and German Echo Awards.
We released 8-Bit Rebellion for iPod, iPod Touch, and iPad, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes music app chart.
“A Thousand Suns” became Nielsen Soundscan’s #1 Best Selling Rock album of 2010
Chester made an appearance in Saw 3D, which also saw a #1 debut at the box office
We held our first LP Underground Summits, in London and Sydney, which quickly became one of the most memorable experiences for LPU members who attended.
As the year comes to a close, we’ll be crossing 20 million Facebook fans (more than Starbucks, Disney, or McDonalds–but still catching up to Michael Jackson at 26MM!)
Following the earthquake in Haiti, the band organized Download To Donate (downloadtodonate.org) where supporters and fans of over a dozen bands could come to download tracks for free, and donate funds to support relief efforts in Haiti. This effort is ongoing.
“A Thousand Suns” was a risky album–one that veered off a more predictable path into territory that definitely got fans and non-fans talking. It’s been fun to see how perceptions and opinions have changed. As we move into the next year, we’ll be looking forward to the next leg of the world tour, another single, another video, and whatever else comes next. A huge “thank you” is due to everyone who has helped make 2010 a successful year for the band. We appreciate you.

2010 a été une super année pour moi et pour le groupe. Voici quelques stats de fin d'année 2010 pour le livre des records de LP:Nous avons réalisé “A Thousand Suns”, qui avait débuté #1 dans 15 pays.
L'album a débuté avec un concours étonnant appelé “Linkin Park Featuring You” sur MySpace, où quelques parties de notre premier single avaient été donné aux fans avant sa sortie. Ils ont remixé le morceau, et nous avions choisi un gagnant nommé "NoBrain" et avons inclus son travail sur notre album.
Nous avons eu la chance de jouer dans plusieurs endroits qu'on avait jamais visité auparavant, comme les Émirats Arabes et Israël.
Chez nous aux USA, notre premier single, “The Catalyst” a été le meilleur démarrage à la place #1 de l'histoire du classement des chansons Rocks de Billboard. “The Catalyst” et “Waiting For The End” ont tout les deux été #1 dans le classement de la radio Alternative, amenant dans notre carrière à dix chansons n°1 jusqu'ici.
LP ont gagné un EMA pour “Meilleur performance live” et nous sommes dans la course pour les prochains People's Choice Awards (perdu face à Paramore depuis...), Japan Gold Disc Awards et German Echo Awards.
On a réalisé "8-Bit Rebellion" pour iPod, iPod Touch, et iPad, qui a débuté à la place #1 dans le classement des applications musique sur iTunes.
“A Thousand Suns” est devenu n°1 des Meilleurs Albums Rock vendu en 2010 par Nielsen Soundscan.
Chester a fait une apparence dans Saw 3D, qui s'est vu débuté à la place #1 dans le box office.
Nous avons fait nos premiers Summits du LP Underground, à Londres et Sydney, ce qui est rapidement devenu l'une des meilleures expériences pour les membres du LPU qui étaient présent.
Comme l'année arrive à sa fin, nous atteindrons les 20 millions de fans sur Facebook (plus que Starbucks, Disney, ou McDonalds–mais en rattrapant toujours pas les 26 millions de Michael Jackson!)
Après le tremblement de terre en Haïti, le groupe a organisé Download To Donate (downloadtodonate.org) où les supporters et fans d'une douzaine de groupes pouvaient venir télécharger les morceaux gratuitement, et donner des fonds pour supporter les efforts pour soutenir l'Haiti. Cet effort est continu.
A Thousand Suns” était un album risqué qui a dévié du chemin le plus prévisible de notre domaine (musical) dont les fans et les non-fans ont beaucoup parlé. Il a été amusant de voir comment les perceptions et les opinions ont changé. Comme nous entrons dans l'année suivante, nous sommes impatients d'annoncer la prochaine étape de la tournée mondiale, un autre single, une autre vidéo, et tout ce qui vient avec. Un grand «merci» est dû à tous ceux qui ont contribué à faire de 2010 une année couronnée de succès pour le groupe. Nous vous apprécions. Bonne année!
